MÖTLEY CRÜE 'Live Wire' EP Release for Record Store Day 2026 - Everything You Need to Know! (2026)

Get ready for a thrilling journey with MÖTLEY CRÜE as they gear up to release their iconic 'Live Wire' EP for Record Store Day on April 18, 2026! This is a momentous occasion, marking the 45th anniversary of the band's formation.

The 'Live Wire' EP, which has been out of print for an astonishing 45 years, will make its grand return with newly designed cover art, exclusively on 12-inch color vinyl. Side A features the energetic tracks 'Live Wire' and 'Take Me To The Top', while Side B showcases the captivating 'Merry-Go-Round'.

But here's where it gets controversial... 'Live Wire', originally released as a single in 1982, holds a deeper meaning than meets the eye. MÖTLEY CRÜE's bassist, Nikki Sixx, revealed in 2019 that the song is a powerful statement against domestic violence, inspired by his own traumatic experiences with his mother and stepfathers.

The EP was initially part of the band's debut album, 'Too Fast For Love', which had a limited release in 1981. A year later, the group signed with Elektra, who remixed and revamped the album, giving it a wider audience.

And this is the part most people miss... MÖTLEY CRÜE is not just about the music; they're also about giving back. Their upcoming 'The Return Of Carnival Of Sins' tour, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the groundbreaking 'Carnival Of Sins' tour and the band's 45th anniversary, will donate $1 from every ticket sold to ASAP! (After School Arts Program) through the Mötley Crüe Giveback Initiative.

The tour, produced by Live Nation, will kick off on July 17, 2026, in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, and will feature support acts EXTREME and TESLA. It's a celebration of music and a chance to support a great cause.

Furthermore, MÖTLEY CRÜE's Las Vegas residency, which began in 2025, had an unexpected twist. Frontman Vince Neil suffered a series of strokes, including a severe one on Christmas 2024, forcing the band to reschedule their shows. The residency eventually took place at Dolby Live at Park MGM from September 12 to October 3, 2025.

So, what do you think? Are you excited for the 'Live Wire' EP release and the upcoming tour? Do you believe that artists should use their platform to raise awareness about important issues? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
